HEADLINER: PHIL SCOTT
Phil Scott is an actor/writer/musician, best known on stage for Sydney's annual political ‘Wharf Revue’, which ran and toured from 2000 – 2025, including 20 years at the Sydney Theatre Company alongside Jonathan Biggins and Drew Forsythe.
Phil’s many cabarets include the solo show "Reviewing the Situation" (playing Lionel Bart), "Mario" (with Blake Bowden – both premiering at Hayes Theatre Co.) and "Newley Discovered" (with Hugh Sheridan). His show with Jonathan Biggins and Drew Forsythe, “Three Men and a Baby Grand”, was seen at the Edinburgh Fringe and London in the 1990s, which led to a ten-part ABC television series in Australia.
With Trevor Ashley, he has co-written seven adult pantos including "Fat Swan", "The Bodybag", “The White Mermaid”, and “Moulin Scrooge” (2012-2024), and “Gentlemen Prefer Blokes” with Courtney Act and Virginia Gay and his stage appearances include “The Lyin’ Queen” (Trevor Ashley), “The Tempest” (David Ritchie Prods.) “The Illusion” and “Torch Song Trilogy” (Darlinghurst TC).
As a Musical Director, he worked on the 1980s revival of “The Rocky Horror Show” in Australian and NZ with Russell Crowe, and composed the musical score for Australian feature films “Two Brothers Running” and “Those Dear Departed” (both dir. Ted Robinson.)
Phil was also MD, composer and co-writer of the musical “The Republic of Myopia” for STC, which opened the Ros Packer Theatre in 2004. Phil has written music and lyrics for three shows for Monkeybaa Theatre Co, including “Pete the Sheep” and “Josephine Wants to Dance”. He also worked as a piano accompanist for Bea Arthur (in Edinburgh) and Rowan Atkinson (in Sydney & Canberra).
Phil again joins forces with Jonathan Biggins at the Sydney Comedy Revue with their satirical look at events and people of 2026.
